Banned middle-order batsman Umar Akmal visited Baba Farid-ud-Din Ganj Shakar’s (RA) shrine in Pakpattan along with his friends, as per ARY News.
The troubled player reportedly started visiting shrines after the ban, as he looks desperate to salvage what looks like an already destroyed career. On arrival at the shrine, Diwan Ahmad Masood Chishti received Umar Akmal.
Umar also laid a wreath at the shrine along with his buddies. The banned batsman also reportedly asked Diwan Ahmad Masood Chishti to solve his problems.
The 30-year-old was handed a 3-year ban from all forms of cricket by Chairman of the Disciplinary Panel Mr. Justice (retired) Fazal-e-Miran Chauhan.
Later on, the Lahore-born occupied the services Babar Awan law firm and appealed against the punishment.
Former Supreme Court judge Mr. Justice (retd) Faqir Muhammad Khokhar as an independent adjudicator heard Umar’s appeal against a three-year ban on 11 June.
