Saeed Ajmal names his favorite bowler and idol

Former Pakistan International Saeed Ajmal has chosen the late Abdul Qadir as his favorite bowler, while adding he would have loved to bowl alongside the legendary spinner.

In an interview with Pakpassion, Ajmal said he would have loved to bowl alongside the legendary Abdul Qadir.

“I would have loved to have bowled with the legendary Abdul Qadir. He was a great leg-spinner and possessed a remarkable googly. I had a doosra in my arsenal, so, ours would have been a great pairing” said Ajmal as quoted by Pakpassion

Qadir is widely regarded as the best leg spinner of the 1970s and 1980s and was a role model for up and coming leg spinners. He picked up 236 wickets in 67 Tests for Pakistan, while notching up 132 in 104 ODIs.

Meanwhile Saeed Ajmal’s International career wasn’t far behind, with the Doosra master racking up 178 Test wickets in 35 games. Ajmal also played a key role for his country in the limited overs setup, picking up a total of 269 wickets in ODIs and T20Is combined.
