Pakistan squad reaches Lahore for Round 2 of Covid-19 Tests

Pakistan’s squad for ‘bio-secure’ England tour has gathered in Lahore to undergo Round 2 of the Covid-19 Tests today (Thursday, 25 June 2020)

All Players and coaching staff, who had tested negative in Round 1, are to undergo a second COVID-19 test before they jet off to Manchester via chartered plane on June 28.

Players who tested negative: Abid Ali, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fawad Alam, Iftikhar Ahmad, Imam-ul-Haq, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Abbas, Naseem Shah, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood, Sohail Khan, and Yasir Shah.

Player Support Staff who tested negative: Mansoor Rana (manager), Misbah-ul-Haq (head coach), Shahid Aslam (assistant to head coach), Younis Khan (batting coach), Mushtaq Ahmed (spin bowling coach), Abdul Majeed (fielding coach), Talha Butt (team analyst), Yasir Malik (strength and conditioning coach), Dr. Sohail Saleem (team doctor), Lt Col (retd) Usman Riffat (security manager) and Raza Kitchlew (media and digital content manager).

Shadab Khan names his dream bowling partners

On Monday, the PCB had announced that 3 players namely Haider Ali, Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan had tested positive. Less than 24 hours later, tests of 7 more players including Fakhar Zaman, Imran Khan, Kashif Bhatti, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Rizwan and Wahab Riaz came out positive for the dreaded virus. All the aforementioned positive-tested players are currently undergoing self-isolation.

Pakistan are due to o tour England for 3 Tests and as many T20I in the ‘bio-secure’ environment. All games are currently scheduled to be played between August and September.
