Veteran Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle was left stunned by Pakistan’s decline in the 1st Test against England in Manchester.
A brilliant 139-run partnership, in the second innings, between Jos Buttler and Chris Woakes steered the homeside to victory, despite the visitors dominating most of the Test match.
“Pakistan went flat….like a soda can left open for two days. Inexplicable. They will be kicking themselves….Had the side to win it,” Bhogle tweeted.
Bhogle also slammed Pakistan skipper Azhar Ali because of his tactics on the field.
“Brilliant from Buttler and Woakes. Had the skill but it was the attitude that took them home. And with 70 left the opposing captain was looking like the game was lost!!” he added.
Victory meant England had won an opening Test for the first time in six series.
The Three Lions will now try to complete their first series win over Pakistan in 10 years with victory in the second Test at Southampton starting on Thursday.
