Former Pakistan fast bowler Tanvir Ahmed has advised the nation’s brand new ODI captain Babar Azam to improve his spoken English and overall personality.
The 41-year-old hailed Babar on his getting chosen as the team’s full-time limited-overs skipper and mentioned a changes that might help the Lahore-born batter going forward.
“Try to improve your personality. By personality, I mean a person can change his dressing sense. Babar Azam also needs to improve his English, which is a necessity,” Tanvir said while speaking on his Youtube channel.
“Whenever someone becomes a captain, he has to talk during the toss and post-match presentation. Plus, he will also give interviews on various channels when he tours different countries,” he added.
Tanveer also emphasized the need for Babar maintainig his fitness levels over the next few years.
“A leader needs to be punctual and organized as the players follow the captain. He should also maintain his fitness level, because if the captain himself isn’t fit, then he can’t advise other players on improving their fitness,” he added.
The former pacer also warns Babar about the extra burden that comes along with being handed captaincy. He concluded by congratulating Babar and termed it as a great achievement for the 25-year-old.
