Pakistan International Mohammad Hafeez is Covid-19 free after PCB’s latest test results showed that the allrounder had tested negative for the dreaded virus.
On Monday, Hafeez had tested positive for Covid-19 along with fellow teammates Wahab Riaz and Shadab Khan. The 39-year-old then decided to get himself re-tested from a local lab in Lahore, the results of which came out negative just a day after he was declared Covid-19 positive by the PCB.
The PCB criticised Hafeez for publicly displaying his negative Covid-19 test report on Twitter, but later conduced a retest of the former Pakistan captain along with all others who had tested positive.
Hafeez has now been declared Covid-19 negative by the board just a day prior to the team’s departure for England.
Renowned Journalist Mazher Arshad was among the first few notable figures to release the news on Saturday when the Covid-19 results of the previously tested 10 positive players were expected to come out.
“Mohammad Hafeez’s second Covid19 test conducted by PCB has come negative. He has won this three-Test series by 2-1.” tweeted Arshad.
